Just by looking at the trailer alone, we can see that The Night Comes For Us will hold nothing back or pull any punches.

Only a minority of the reviews out of Sundance were in the negative the majority of critics - not all of them action genre advocates - turned in uniformly stellar early notices.

While the plot may be somewhat familiar, the fact that we are getting another film starring Uwais and Taslim is exciting enough. The previous international trailer for The Raid 2 gave fans some story to chew on even as it showcased the sequels upgrade in sheer scale. The film sees Taslim as a former triad assassin who must escape his boss and his gang because he spared a young girl’s life. And it doesn’t hurt to have some of the best action stars. With Iko Uwais, Arifin Putra, Tio Pakusadewo, Oka Antara. Uwais and Evans have teamed up again for The Raid, a fresh assault of fists and feet that. That all changed when writer/director Gareth Huw Evans made fan favourite Merantau, which ushered young fighter Iko Uwais into the celluloid arena. The film, which premiered at Fantastic Fest earlier this year has been praised for being bloody and brutal. Before 2009, few martial arts film fans had ever heard of the traditional Indonesian combat style of silat, let alone seen a film from that part of the world. With no new The Raid films coming out in the near future, The Night Comes For Us may be the thing to see for those who want a gritty Indonesian action film. However, Uwais and Taslim won’t be on the same squad, this time, they find themselves on opposing sides after a triad assassin spares a young girl’s life. The film stars Iko Uwais, who previously worked with Evans in another action film, Merantau, released in 2009. Picking up from right where the first film ends, The Raid 2 follows Rama (Iko Uwais) as he goes undercover and infiltrates the ranks of a ruthless Jakarta. Its called 'The Raid 2,' and as you can see from the exclusive trailer premiere, its going to be a wild ride. Netflix has released a trailer for The Night Comes For Us, which reunites The Raid‘s Iko Uwais and Joe Taslim for yet another Indonesian action-packed slugfest. The Raid is a 2011 4 Indonesian action thriller film written, directed and edited by the Welsh filmmaker Gareth Evans.
